Edison Chess team had the opportunity to attend the 2026 Colorado Scholastic Chess Championships. Our team played in the unrated section to get exposure to the tournament environment. Students played very well, with Colton Johnson placing 5th and Daniel Steele placing 6th. The team was surprised at their opponents skills and how many people came to play chess. They gained a new outlook on chess and several students want to up their game to come back and play the rated state championships next year.
